This article is a sub-part of this article!

  1. Networking, it’s very crucial and will help you when you’ll be applying to jobs. You shouldn’t just send connection requests to people on LinkedIn and get happy when they accept it. Build real connections, go to events, meet-ups, workshops, anything where you can interact face to face with humans online or offline.
  2. Read technical blogs, try to explore and learn new technologies from YouTube tutorials and build something small to see if that domain interests you.
  3. Subscribe to tech YouTubers like Clement, Keep on Coding, Hitesh, Tech with Tim and others to keep yourself updated about tech and for general Software Engineering advice and what to expect in this field.
  4. Participate in Coding Contests (LeetCode, Codeforces, etc), Hackathons, Open-source programs like Google Summer of Code, Hacktoberfest, etc.
  5. Follow a recruiter who gives advice on recruiting and interview processes, I personally like to follow Amy Miller (Google and Amazon Recruiter).
